Review from a fan posted on her Facebook

Our review of last night's show from a fan:

Well. PLANET WAVES is HAPPENING! Those of you who know me know that if I have nothing good to say I say nothing.

I gots to say. This band is something to watch for. They rocked the house at Ace Cider Pub. Fabulous renditions of Tangled Up in Blue....Watchtower, Silvio, HURRICANE - off the hook! Maggie's Farm...wonderful treatment of I Shall Be Released. Many others.

And by request, Stan the Man had them go off set list and do Born to be Wild, and he did the vocals. Band picked up on it very professionally.

Watch for these guys. THEY ROCK!

So glad Lee baby came out.

Folks danced and sang along.

THANK YOU PLANET WAVES!!!

Ace Cider

Our 1st show with new line up last night at Ace

Last night at the Ace Cider Speakeasy proved to be a great venue to work out any bugs in the system! The general buzz from those in attendance was that we were excellent! 1st set jitters perhaps caused a couple of tempo problems, but that was corrected by the time the 2nd set started. Jeffrey (owner) and Stan (bar manager) were very pleased with our performance and want us back there again. Look for us to play there again once a month. In the meantime, we go back into the rehearsal studio to fix the rest of the bugs.

Ace Cider Speakeasy Directions

Coming from Sebastopol, head towards Forestville on Highway 116. Take a left on Occidental Road (Union 76 station.) You will be making a left turn at the 2nd driveway (the 1st isn’t much of a driveway) just a couple of hundred feet down from 116. This driveway has a coded gate, code is 6138, but call 829.1101 during biz hours to confirm. Once past the gate, you will take a left at first stop sign back towards 116 and start heading towards the southeast corner of this agri-industrial complex. Building 4 has a big ACE sign on the north side of the building. Go around the other side. A little bit out of the way, but I guess that’s why they call it a speakeasy.

If you're visually oriented, here's a map.

Another Sneak Preview

We've been hard at work in the studio getting ready for hopefully many shows for your aural pleasures! here are a couple of sneak previews for you.

You Can't Stop The Waves!

Planet Waves is back after a lengthy hiatus that saw 2 members move out of our home of Sonoma County, and another living in the East Bay who is now battling cancer. Founding member David Maciel (David MySky on Facebook), has rebuilt the band. We are now:

David Maciel- drums, vocals
Will Eichert- lead guitar
John Bedell- rhythm guitar, vocals
Dan Clark- bass guitar, vocals

Will is a most excellent lead guitarist with smooth tones. John comes to PWs from Liquid Sun Day out of the Petaluma area, and although Dan hasn't played with other bands recently, he's been hard at work at his home studio, and we clicked right out of the box at his audition.

Our first (major) show will be at the Forestville Club on Saturday, May 25th, but we went and scheduled a little "Sneak Preview" at Ace Cider Speakeasy Pub in Sebastopol this Friday, May 10th, from 8-11 pm.

You Can't Stop The Waves!

Planet Waves is back!

The new members have been in the studio wood shedding for what we hope to be a busy summer! Welcome John Bedell from Petaluma on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Will Eichert from Camp Meeker on lead guitar, and Dan Clark also from Petaluma on bass guitar and vocals. They join founding member David Maciel from Forestville on drums and vocals.

Our 1st show will be a lo-pro work-out-the-live-performance-kinks type of gig at the Ace Cider Speakeasy on May 10th in Sebastopol. No cover charge! More about that later, just wanted to announce the new line up.
